Anime games have had a habit of sucking. This may not have the suck, but neither does it have the awesome.

Before I get started, brief history. The Jojo series started off as a manga, meaning millions of anime fan punks hated the anime because minor things were changed. The anime was based off of series three, as well as the game capcom made. Capcom has had a nack for making weird fighters but having one inspired by an anime shows a lack of originality imo. Does this belong in the pile with the rest of the crap anime games?

Story: 8/10

I really shouldn't bother with the story since people already read the manga or saw the anime but what the hell. Jotaro beats up people, locks himself in jail, his gramps comes to fetch him, they fight, jotaro is out, finds out his ghost is a stand (what a stupid name for a power), goes all over the world with some crossdresser in a green suit, so pretty boy with that makes guile jealous, a literal S.O.B., and some guy with a flaming chicken (I would use the other term but thats just to gruesome for GS to allow.) and they all set out to kill a vampire. wow....interesting at least.

I'd say meh. The game isn't combo-esq like most other capcom fighters, but thats not important. You have 3 attack buttons and one "special ability" button (oh lord, capcom is ripping off neogeo games.......) No matter what button you press, you will pull off the same attack specials. Activate your stand to get a different attack pattern, stats, and other stuff. You also have a stand meter (works like a system from the depths of hell, guard crushing meters) if your stand (while activated) loses it's meter, it disappears for a few minutes then back again. This would work more appropriately for a slower paced game, but in the fast world of jojo, its hard to focus on the how much SM you have left, and you leave yourself getting stand crushed many times over. Also after being crushed you can regain your stand in mere seconds. That way you can get crushed, comeback, crushed, comeback, rinse reuse. The problem with this system is that many of the characters operate almost EXACTLY the same, meaning that you have one side and then you have some weird ghost form to kick ass with. Some characters are different and have weird abilities and are usually the WORST of the bunch. This brings out an issue in some balance, but not to the point where they aren't playable by any standard. The art design makes all the characters un-appealing unless you watch the anime and gain a favorite character from these people (thats the only way to make you play anyone other than jotaro) but even then, favoritism can't help you define their moves. Since the game moves faster than a normal game and controls a little awkward, you can be sure everyone will button mash to death, because for most people other than Joseph and Hol Horse, it's hard to determine what moves the characters have and memorize them because most are the same or just plain suck. This leads to some confusion as to what to expect from certain characters. because they are so weird, people have a hard time understanding what strategies they all use unless they are hardcore anime freaks. Well its fast paced and a little fun to say the least, but hardcore fighting game fans will be turned off by the awkward controls and weird characters.

Eh....screw them. This game is decent but not by far a great title, but its not bad............I dont know what to say about this title honestly. I guess thats why they call it "bizarre"
