This is essentially the canonization of gaming and the reason why my faith isn't completely lost in the future of this industry. Journey now shares the rarefied air of titles such as ICO and Shadow of the Colossus which transcend the conventions of video games. Whereas most games serve to numb the brain and senses with gratuitous stimuli, Journey is an organic exploration of wonderment and human discovery. There is something to be said about a game that creates a genuine bond of companionship through virtual anonymity. The vested interest isn't a product of forced co-dependency but rather cooperative and voluntary inclinations. Quite frankly, there are no words to adequately convey the aesthetic value and profound impact Journey has on a player. One must experience it for him or herself. Do yourself and the medium a favor by supporting developers who dare to travel the road less taken. In other words, buy this game!
