I remember when I played this game in an Apple IIe it was the super game you can ever have in that type of computer way back then. Having it back makes me feel that I can bring back my shildhood. Journey back to 1982 and venture into any arcade and you’ll find a crowd of people huddled around a Joust machine. At that time, I was much too young to have been able to play, but I do remember my older cousins playing the game, and I have since seen it around, but I forgot just how bizarre some of the early arcade titles really were. Joust is without a doubt an arcade classic hit, but to anyone who has never seen it in action, they might find themselves wondering just what the 70’s did to people and why Midway would given the idea of a game involving lance battles, while riding the back of an ostrich, serious thought. Whatever the reasoning is behind the game, Joust has survived through the years and it is still a worthy coin-op classic that has a certain appeal…even if we are still trying to figure out exactly what that appeal actually is.
