One of the best and original games that I have ever played!!
Playing as the GGs, your main goal is to break the Rokkaku Group's oppression over Tokyo(-to). With a Radio Station's broadcaster named DJ Professor K's help, you skate and tag all of Tokyo, in order to end Gouji Rokkaku's reign of terror. However, rival gangs and the 'law' enforcements constantly get in your way.
The gameplay is very creative and interesting. You skate around a very open-ended Tokyo, tagging areas with graffiti, which is customizable, by the way. You do not start out with too many members in the GGs, but it eventually grows and grows as the game progresses. In fact, you can even gain characters that are a part of other gangs to ride around Tokyo-to with. The trick system in this game is more immersive and can really make you feel like an expert once you have completely mastered it. I defeated someone in a race with two fingers!! This leads me to the multiplayer mode, which is fun and playable to up to 4 players.
I have never played a perfect game before, however. Like any other game, Jet Set Radio has its flaws, especially when you attempt to compare it to its DreamCast version, Jet Grind Radio. Although I thought that JSRF was a step up from JGR, I thought it was a lot less of a challenge than JGR. The music, though most of the songs we cannot stop nodding our heads to, gets awfully repetitive in a while. You will eventually discover that the multiplayer can get very limiting, very fast.
That being said, I still think that Jet Set Radio Future is one of the best. As a matter of fact, if JSRF and JGR were combined together, that could make an ultimate and unrivaled game. This is a game that should not be forgotten, but remembered. A sequel that turns the cons of both JSRF and JGR into pros, then that game could make a gaming experience like no other, regardless of your gaming preference. Besides, its only $2 at your local gamestop or ebgames, so go ahead and buy it already!!
