A lot of fun if you avoid driving and shooting.
Pros:
- Huge open world, i think this game has the biggest map/world ever seen in a game (not including Microsoft's Flight Simulator). And its all open from beginning so theres no unlocking territories.
- Mountains, rivers, lakes, plains... The whole terrain looks beautiful. Atmospheric effects like clouds and fog also enhance the beauty of terrain. If you fly over a mountain you can see how good the lighting and shadows are, it makes me fell like im flying over a real mountain.
- Grapple and parachute made me fell free as a bird, its like Spider-Man and James Bond mixed togeder. You can go anywhere and you want to go that includes jumping from car to car, grappling on to a helicopter and you can also use extraction option to transport you to previously explored area.
- Lots of stuff to blow up, but when i say stuff i mean gas tanks, guard towers, radio beacons, cranes and vehicles but there is a lot of them.
- Sound is good, you can hear the echo when you fire a gun and explosions sound good.
Cons:
- There is some kind of motion blur effect when you move the camera and it makes game look slow it also makes aiming a pain in the ass. When i move my mouse a bit faster theres a delay before the camera/crosshair moves witch annoys me and so i avoid shooting in this game. Not much ammo around.
- Car handling is just dreadful. Its what turned me away from the original game and they did not improve it much. The car just isn't doing what you want it to and it fells wrong and unrealistic. Damage modeling is not believable enough.
- Technically this game lacks polish. As you drive/fly you can see objects appearing not far away. There are also what i like to call the worst form of bugs/glitches those that stop you from completing the mission/level and take hours of your time before you realize the game is bugged. For example you cant complete Black Gold mission if you die, you must restart the game.
Conclusion:
Im a big fan of driving and shooting games but in this game driving and shooting isn't that good and blowing stuff up isn't satisfying as in Battlefield Bad Company 2, so im wondering why am i still playing this game?
I guess its the stunts,flying and a big map that keep me drawn to this game.
