This game might not appeal to everyone, but some might get a lot of enjoyment out of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men.
Gameplay: The 16 or so chapters you play through are full of action and ways to command your squad. You'll have an easy time getting around and blasting enemies, but the cover system is a bit screwy. You may also find the AI to be lackluster at times, as well - since they basically rush targets or stand out in the open, but you'll eventually figure out to keep them close to you and far enough from enemies to have the advantage before you finish the brief Campaign mode.
Even with those issues, you'll enjoy the settings the levels take place in, and the action is pretty much non-stop. Both Kane and Lynch are unique characters that you'll enjoy hearing them argue and cause trouble. The other characters you encounter are interesting and add more to the great story you'll experience, even if the endings (there are two) leave more to be desire.
There's also a local split screen co-op mode where two players can play through the single player campaign, but I'm unable to test that out. The game can also be online with a mode called Fragile Alliance (up to 8 players I assume), but with the lack of players during my time, I was only able to play one round. It's actually pretty interesting and plays just as well as you expect any Games for Windows Live game to play, but not many people play it.
Graphics: The game looks fine and keeps up with a steady frame rate, with detailed models and textures presenting everything well enough to give it a good style, but some of the animation seems unfinished.
Performance varies from one machine to another, with some computers that exceed the requirements many encounter some stuttering. It runs fine on both Vista and XP.
Sound: The audio is quite good with solid voice acting and a superb soundtrack. Gunfire have satisfying pops and bangs to them as well, and everything else fits well with the game.
Value: For $50, you're probably better off renting it if you only expect to only play the single player aspect of the game. Online isn't very active, but if you have someone to play split screen co-op with, the price tag might be worth it.
Tilt: Overall, this game might not appeal to everyone, but to the certain crowd that it does, they may find a lot of enjoyment out of this game.
