Impressive. This is as close as I've been to running a war ever in a videogame. Koei has done a really good job here!
It takes some getting used to as it's similar to a strat rpg, but in reality you're making decisions on the fly like an action game, so it really is kinda like the d.w. series except instead of controlling one general you're controlling whole armies. It's a trip.
The graphics are typical Koei fare, very ornate on character designs and very basic on level designs. There's some variation of course, but it doesn't matter. You'll be trampling over the landscape anyway on your way to fuedal japanese conquest! Huzzah.
One thing I found interesting is that Nobunaga's a hero in this, but a villian in samurai warriors....curious indeed. It is certainly a story worth investigating further, so it's back to Kessen 3 for me.
