Kill.Switch isn’t exactly realistic. The game’s hero can take a good number of bullets before going down and shots to the head are never an instant kill. He even recovers a bit of lost health if given enough time. While this doesn’t by any means make the game easy, it isn’t nearly as challenging as it could have been. Even when death does occur, it often feels cheap and out of the player’s control. For instance, even though you can withstand a number of bullets, two hits from the butt of an enemy’s gun will kill you. The AI seems to take advantage of this, as enemy soldiers will often sneak up behind you to deliver a fatal blow. It’s nearly impossible to see them coming because of the viewpoint the game takes when using an object as cover. Death should always stem from a mistake made by the player, not poor design.
