A game that time hasn't loved, but still remains as a missed milestone.Mainly from creating the first true combo system.

User Rating: 9.4 | Killer Instinct SNES
Killer Instinct is a game that created one of the first combo systems, while providing the absolute fastest action ever to come to a fighter. Though some fighters have similar feel to them, there are about 4 different styles of original looking fighters that all provide devastating and insanely quick combos. Combo breakers also bring some smoothness into the mix, though it seems the computer opponents AI will use this to their advantage sometimes. The AI in general is the smartest AI to cross any fighting game, and will ultimately piss you off sometimes, but the difficulty setting allows for any type of player to play through. Don't plan on beating this game on the hardest difficulty any time soon, you'll have to have well mastered this game to do that.

Killer Instinct puts on the best graphic and sound show than any game on the SNES. KI's graphics remain smooth, greatly detailed, and almost up to PSX quality standards at all times. The graphics move so fluid and fast, it makes most combos look unbelievably awesome. The announcer in this game is just as memorable as Mortal Kombat's "Fight" and "Finish Him" we were all accustomed to in the early 90's. Though Mortal Kombat has been praised by so much, it really isn't worth anything when compared to Killer Instinct's hip, fast, and amazing moves (Killer Instinct does weak fatalities though).

The most solid and slick presentation any Super Nintendo game ever had. For any Mortal Kombat fans, do yourself a favor and get this game, it'll change your mind, just as it changed mine.
