*****HOOPSTAR789's REVIEW on Killing Floor*****
1. GRAPHICS- This game looks great but for 2009's graphics standards, It looks like it has been delayed for several years. The game looks great but It should of came out in late 07 or early 08. Anyway, the shadow and lighting effects are same of the most impressive to be put in the UNREAL 2.0 engine. The Charter models are crafted to perfection, and the look of the environment is spooky. Though the game looks good so far, it has some embarrassing graphic issues, for example, some of the glass in this game is not even a reflection, it it just a picture of a Battle of Red Orchestra, Tripwire Interactive last game, but that must of been an Easter egg, another problem was the rain effects. it could of been a whole lot better than it is, to make a long story short, the rain sucks in this game. Other than that, this game is a good looking game for the UNREAL 2.0 engine.
2. GAMEPLAY- You couldn't have a more perfect default key setting. The controls in this game maybe be confusing at first but it should take you a whole 30 minutes to get used to it. The enemy A.I. is extremely smart and deadly, unlike Valve's "Director" A.I. that Left 4 Dead is running off of, this A.I. will hunt you down with no mercy and go after the weakest link for a quick kill or attack form all sides and hide in the darkness until you get near and that when they attack. That Said and done, if you think you can make it threw Left 4 Dead and come in here thinking you will survive with no problems, think again, this game will have you running back to Left 4 Dead go in guns blazing. This game also features an RPG system that allows the players to select a Perk that gives them advantages, damage increases, etc. As players continue to use a Perk, they can advance a Level in that certain Perk, earning them an increased advantage in there Perk abilities. The Perks are also not dumbed together and are not easy to achieve in a level, this is another reason that keeps you coming back to this game again and again.
3. Multplayer- Multiplayer is the backbone for this game, this game supports up to 6 player co-op as the 6 Hazmat team Operatives must face off waves of Speciaments. Each game has a total of 11 Rounds, the first 10 rounds has the players facing off Speciaments that get harder and increase in number after each round. Then at the 11th wave, the players have to face a Level boss Known as " The Patriarch" who is extremely hard to kill. Once The Patriarch is killed, the game ends and then a Map Voting Chart appears in the Screen for the players to vote on the next map. The Players also are given a Buying/Selling system that allows them to sell or buy weapons, armor, and other items. The currency in this game is British Pounds, The players get a certain amount of money for each kill that they score. Then when an end of round is up, the players have a certain amount of time ranging from 1-3 minutes to spend the money, the players can select weapons ranging from Sniper Rifles, Assault rifles, Flamethrowers, Dual Weapons, Melee Weapons, Rocket Launcher, and explosives. The Multiplayer in this game is more addicting then Crack to a Crackhead. Yes, you will even be locking your door on a school night just to play this game, I know I have.
3. STORY- This game really doesn't feature a story but does have a plot, A Bio-tech company called Horzine Corporation, Horzine conducted several experiments that caused the Birth of the Speciaments. These "Speciaments" broke free from there containment cells and reached the outside world and quickly killed or infected the British population. This is where there British Special forces deploy this Hazmat Team (which is the players) who's job it is to wipe out the Bio-hazard threat. After that, it is just gameplay from there. Tripwire Interactive released an article called the bedtime story which can be read here at this link

4. OVERALL- Overall, Killing Floor is a great game for the incredible price it is, this game is a must buy for all PC owners, even if this game was the price of a full retail game it is still worth a buy, the great thing about this game is that even for lower gaming rigs, anyone can run this game. This game is not to be missed but Like i said, the graphics aren't top notch, so Don't expect this game to look like Left 4 Dead.
Overall Score 8.5 Critic Score 7.5
