Killzone 2 is an amazeing FPS, and complety destroys rivals such as COD and Halo. Read this non biased, honest review!

User Rating: 9.5 | Killzone 2 PS3
INTRO: Killzone 2 is a brilliant sequel to a great predecessor. Gorgeous graphics and amazing sounds all help enhance the epic story. This time the game is set on the forever dark and stormy planet of helghan which looks and feel incredible.

GAMEPLAY: it's a fairly standard FPS control wise, similar to Call Of Duty, but a very intelligent cover system and simply staggering graphics separate it from all those big name rivals. Cover is very simple. You just stick to objects with the L2 button then pop out over, fire off some shots, pop back in then reload in safety. This is an essential part of the game, because those bullets hurt! If you take over five hits in around three seconds you're a dead man. Mercifully the game has a Call Of Duty damage system, where you heal by simply taking cover and resting for a few seconds until the blood spatters on the screen have gone. This is much more preferable than health bars, as I hate having to look out for medic kits and things. The sound will also blow you away, as explosions destroy huge structures and machine guns rattle satisfyingly, you are in for good time. Even if, unfortunately, the story campaign is significantly shorter than Killzone 1 which lasted 15 to maybe 20 hours. This time round the story, at a push, will reach 8 or 9 hours tops. But its still great and action packed, and also throws in some great vehicle set pieces that were absent from the first game.

MULTIPLAYER: I never normally have a multiplayer section in my reviews, and for that reason it might not be a very good section, but Killzone 2s is just so good I had to include one! Its 16 players online, as most FPS are, so its normally eight aside. Its built around classes, each class having a certain look, and certain abilities and items other classes don't have. This makes matches varied and interesting, and very hectic! Its total chaos, which its very fun! It is my favourite online FPS ever, and some classic maps from the first game return in style. Great. But bizarrely there is no split-screen.

GOOD: An excellent and immersive storyline, stunning graphics, gorgeous cut-scenes, brilliant and fun gameplay, staggering sounds, chaotic action packed multiplayer, very satisfying action, decent voice acting, and a great atmosphere.

BAD: No split-screen mode! One or two annoying characters, story is too short.

OVERVIEW: Killzone 2 is a brilliant FPS that walks all over rivals with its great visuals and gameplay, a must, must buy. And its tough for you 360 owners as this epic is a PS3 exclusive! Do not miss this definitive PS3 shooter , if you do, your missing out. Move over Halo, you have company, big company!
