Killzone 2 is definitely in my top 5 games.
Killzone 2 has been criticized for its controls , however , i think the controls really role with the game play , making it seem more realistic rather than the more trigger happy controls of the ' call of duty' franchise.
Campaign.
The campaign is excellent with brilliant level design, extraordinary graphics and a large weapon selection. The enemy AI is good , they made sure to have a difficulty level for each style of gamer. You really shouldn't get bored with this games levels especially with it's incorporation of Six axis to turn valves , plant explosives and a steady hand also helps while sniping , but if you do the developers have thrown in a twist or two .
Two things let me down with the campaign play , first of all would be the friendly AI , especially on the harder difficulties your teammates will begin just waltzing in front of the bullets parading to get hit , then when they get downed constantly need you to revive them. Second thing, no Co-op campaign , it had the opportunity to , but just didn't . but these are just small troubles.
Online Play.
The kill zone 2 online features all different modes in one; though you can change it to straight out killing. Modes include Body count, search and destroy, search and retrieve and assassination.There are 18 weapons you can unlock bu playing through the online ranks. You can also unlock classes which allow you to specialize in different things such as the medic class lets you revive downed teammates and lay out health kits and the tactician class allows you to call in air support and deploy spawn points.
If you do feats such as 8 head shots in one match you will get a ribbon, 8 ribbons get a medal , which unlocks awesome rewards. anyway , it also has excellent maps and syncing so there isn't much lag.
Storyline.
After the events of kill zone Liberation the Helghast army take their stolen warhead back to Helghan and begin trying to retrieve the activation codes. Then the ISA get to show off their shiny new fleet of cruisers and head off to Helghan to launch the invasion , although the ships are unable to tear the city apart completely due to the Helghast anti-aircraft weaponry so they launch a ground invasion which places you in the line of fire and you must go obtain the nuclear bomb and arrest Visari.
