An obvious improvment over the 1st. Think you have what it takes for this instant classic? Read more
Gameplay: An obvious improvement comparing to the first Killzone. It's kind of similar to CoD: Modern Warfare gameplay structure but is not as fast paced. Personaly the controls respond well and it's fun to press the trigger.
The AI knows exactly what to do in combat. They can easily flank you and make great use of cover, so watch if they are numerous. Too bad the soldiers of our side, except the Alpha ones, don't share the same efficiency.
There are also nice touches like putting explosives and pushing valves using the motion sensor, but they can be a pain to the pulses.
When you finish the campaign, what you got left is one of the best online expiriences to spend hours and hours with. You evolve your rank but not your character. Instead of leveling up like in MW there are classes to unlock (and medals) and each one has its own special ability. It makes the whole game more balanced, so if you think you can do stuff all alone you're more likely dead. Having some partners to help makes the whole thing more possible and fun.
Graphics: Simply amazing, a masterpiece with few imperfections lot of detail and good use of light. However the game is very grey and the environments have lack of variety, with a lot of ruined cities. But there's also a ship and a desert to explore, and you don't get bored by the whole world of Killzone 2. It's an harsh devastated planet so what should we expect?
Longevity: Around 10 hours of campaign and hundreds of hours of online, so that boils down everything.
Final opinion: It's an obrigatory title for every lover of action and it implements all of its promisses. It's also a technological mark for the PS3, showing an unpararell technical component with superb visuals and sound.
