Killzone... where should I start. This game as like Halo 2 where the 2 games with the best graphics of any console of 2004 in my opinion. Although can have some ugly bits for example when you die, as soon as you drop to the floor most of the time you twitch, and the detail of the character is horrendous. Where it gets it's good marks is the gameplay, the physics of the guns and effects of when you shoot are great. The gun moves and feels realistic especially when you run, which means that most of the time you have to shoot in bursts to get the enemy from far. This game is not a "run into the room and just shoot everyone like crap" Terminator thing, you have to take your time and pick off your targets one by one which, gives it a tactical feel. One of the annoying things about it is that there are no vechiles that you can get into and that all the enemy's can take a whole round of ammo and not die. This make's the gameplay after a good 10 hours repetetive and slightly boring. The single player campaign has its lengthy time from 15 to 17 hours. Throughout single player you get to unlock and choose between 4 different characters which, changes the way you fight your enemies depending on which one you choose for example, if you were to choose Rico he would fight tons of enemies because of what his gun is (A portable turret-rocket launcher), Or if you were to choose the stealth lady which gives you a few enemies but you have the choice of killing them skillfully and slowly. The multiplayer is awesome both online and offline. There is a choice of cpu bots that you can put online and offline (there can be 2 players on the same console offline) so there's no problem with empty teams. Going back to the graphics, the game is just too powerful for the ps2 itself so runs a bit slow at times e.g in the middle of a big firefight. But im still not sure at how many fps this runs at. Overall it is a blast to play and at times one of the best FPS you will get into, and thats why people cant wait for the next game.
This game is not a Halo 1 killer, however it is a super fabulous fps, with an awesome story.... Graphics don't make a game, but they help in Killzone. Overall, this game has better graphics than Halo 2! That is my opi... Read Full Review
