Killzone follows the story of the time when the helghast assault Vecta this is made clear due to the opening cinematic. You follow Jan Templar and hes squad consisting of Rico , Hakka and Luger (the only woman of the team). The helghast are attacking and your here to kill the bastards, too bad they caught us on surprise and now were being owned. So you and your squad head out to put a stop to them. You destroy a fire base, run amok on a space station, and go for a nice killing spree in the park. You find out that spoiler: That general Adams is helping the helghast so you go and kill him. The stories not exactly the most deepest out there but its not to shabby.
Graphics in killzone are alright i guess. For the PS2 it really tears it down to the point of frame rate issues. its good graphics for the ps2. I like the design of the helghast. The helghast really look great.
The sound in killzone is better then most games. Its the grenades going of and helghast yelling along with ricko swearing like theres no tomorrow. It really fells like a war zone. Weapons sound good most of the time a voice acting is fairly well done.
Gameplay wise killzone is your standard FPS it doesn't try to bring real big gameplay wise moves. You got a sorta rebounding health bar. The game doesn't let you look down the sights of the gun but lets you zoom in with most guns of not all guns. Crouching i found was good instead of just going down. when you go down your gun flops abit. i thought that was good alot better then just going down. Melee attacks in killzone are alot different then other games. Instead of pressing a button and he hits you come up press a button does sort of a cinematic attack. Same with the knife if you come up behind you grasp their mouth and slit their throat if you come up from the front you throw the knife into their throat and slit their throat. Another cool thing about Killzone is that instead of having one person you have 4 so you can be Jan,ricko,Hakka,Luger. Each with own strength and weaknesses.
