User Rating: 9.1 | Kingdom Hearts II PS2
I swaer, anyone foolish enough to give this game under an 8 should be shot strainght into the sun right now, I don't know where the heck someone can come off disliking this game, especially if they liked the first one. When comparing both this one and the first, Kingdom Hearts two is everything the first had and more! And when I say more, I mean these changes were for the better! The fighting, though still basically button-mashing, is amped up with the new Drive forms, and combos which can look pretty cool when pulled off on the right kind of enemy. The new locations are dependant on where they take place, some are really good with famous disney spots to fight in (like Beast's Ballroom), which makes the fight seem that much more unique. Other's that are smaller are usually packed with numerous treasures and items. Of course, the whole "Little Mermaid Sing-Along" level was original, but kind of unnessecary for the entire level to revolve around it.

The graphics in this one are just as good as the first if not better! The lighting effects and whatnot are truly some of the best I've seen on a PS2 game as of yet (I can only think of 3 to 5 other PS2 games that look better). Spells and limits are purely the pinnacle of what a current-console RPG should look like (ones that aren't cel-shaded anyway). The environments almost all differ from eachother to fit the movies those worlds are based on. Boss battles are plentious and challenging (in the good way), everyone of them with their own reaction commands that really make the battle look that much more awesome, when combined with the stunning visuals of their spells and attacks.

And of course, the cameos. Almost all of the Final Fantasy favorites from the first one are present, icluding a few new ones that are equally memorable. Almost every Disney character that you can think of is also here too, and only the new ones don't remember Sora and friends.

All in all, this game is indeed an improvement over the first one (which was great already), and any right-minded fan of the first will certainly have no problem appreciating this one to at least a equal extent. I reccommend this to anyone who wants a great RPG.
