The perfect PS2 game. Even if you never played the original, its a great game and a must play.

The graphics are some of the best on the fading out PS2 games, and give a rich feel to the worlds you enjoy. The beginning portion of the game adds a new twist to the plot for people who played both the first game and Chain of Memories, and plots out a long and interesting story line. Even if you haven't played either of the other two, there is enough of a recap to get you involved and in love with the story and characters that take part in it. Of course, the ending leaves you full of questions, which I find the only negative thing about the story. Gameplay, as in the first game, can get somewhat repetitive and uninteresting at parts, but the boss battles often add a flair that keeps you interested and biting your nails for the next boss to come up as soon as possible. The new Reaction Commmands add a nice new flavor to the regular battles, but are often just a matter of pressing the triangle button over and over. It would have been nice if a few more buttons were added to the Reaction Commands, but, hey, there's always KH3, right? If you are a veteran of the series, make sure you try the game out first on Hard because standard mode is lke the easy of the first game, and newbies: make sure you start on standard, as easy will be too easy for you. Overall, best game next to FF12 on the the PS2 and deserves a spot on the top 10 list.
