People have asked me what I think of Kingdom Hearts, and I say it is something very different from a developer more associated with RPG’s. This is more direct action gaming in that it’s not really turn based. There are characters you may remember from other FF games like Selphie from Final Fantasy VIII and Wakka from Final Fantasy X. The game ties itself with Disney, which has allowed Square Enix to include various Disney character into the game. There are your usual favourites: Donald Duck, Mickey, Goofy, Daisy Duck and even Pluto are in there, too. The game starts rather surreally. As you play through the game all stuff will all make more sense. I love the fact that it’s not really an RPG, rather, more of an action adventure type game with lots of things to do and baddies to fight, and so forth. The graphics are really very well realized here. Kudos must go to the character designers for giving each Disney character justice. All the right voices are used, which makes the game all that much more enjoyable. The mix of a Final Fantasy and a Disney world is an ambitious leap of faith, but this being one that has hit the mark, as far as I’m concerned.
