An amazing adventure that proves that a book can't be judged by its cover...

When you hear that a game featuring Donald Duck and Goofy is selling by the millions to both the young and old, you might be asking yourself, how? Well that becomes instantly clear when you play this game and see just how well this title proves to be. A collaboration of Disney and Squaresoft is so ridiculus, that well, it works out for the best. Fans of Disney will grow to love this game while fans of squaresoft titles will love the action oriented RPG elements of the game and the countless hours of extras it packs. To start things off, you start out as a young boy named Sora, who lives on the Destiny Islands with his friends and some familiar faces such as Tidus and Wakka from Final Fantasy X. Everything is fine except Sora's best friend Riku has been prone to finding out what kind of other worlds are out there ever since their friend Kairi mysteriously arrived on the island as an orphan. All three of them are ready for adventure when the game takes off and the island is destroyed by the main enemys called The Heartless. From then on the game takes you to many familiar Disney levels such as Wonderland from Alice in Wonderland, Deep Jungle from Tarzan, Halloween Town from The Nightmare Before Christmas, and many more. A couple of original worlds are packed in too. The games massive, colorful worlds really pull you into them and make you feel like a part of these classic disney movies. While you visit these worlds, you are accompanied by Donald Duck and Goofy and it may feel weird at first but overall it starts to feel that this is the way it should be. All three of them fight on the screen at the same time with real time combat with its main flaw being camera issues due to the fact that you have to press the R2 and L2 buttons to rotate which gets rather confusing and frustrating in the middle of some tight battles. All three of the characters gain the same amount of experience so the leveling up is quite easy in this game. You may be wondering how the Disney worlds connect to the story line and its simple. There is a keyhole in every world you visit and its Sora, Donald and Goofy's job to seal them with the keyblade, which is also in fact the weapon Sora uses throughout this game. The princesses are the key to opening the final door to the darkness and you can only guess that the bad guys from all the worlds want it open. The villains are all classic and are exactly who you would expect to fight. Jafar in Agrabah, Oogy Boogy from Halloween Town, Captain Hook from Neverland and all of them have near perfect voice overs along with all the other characters. The music is also near perfection and is really a highlight of this game. The overall amount of time it takes to beat this game through the first time is around 35-40 hours which isn't bad considering all of the worlds you go to and the original content you will fall in love with. Overall I have to say that this is an instant classic that any PS2 owner who is a fan of Disney or Squaresoft and their immersive RPG series' should own without question.
