Honestly, I like RPG's but I the battle setup often bores me. I find the turned based attack system to dry and monotonous. Thankfully this game brings the fun back into fighting. By this being an action-rpg the battles are "real time," meaning that you can attack whenever you want, as many times as you want. The variety in attacks is also a plus. You can choose from either magic or sword attacks which allow you to shape the kind of character you want to be. Also, at the beginning of the game, the choices you make with your friends (within the game) determine what your focus as a character will be and how quickly you level up. It also helps to determine whether physical or magical attack will be your strong suit. (I personally chose a more physical attack, high rate of level up setup) At about 3/4 of the way through the game it does begin to feel a bit "button mashy" but that feeling doesn't last for very long. The bosses offer a variety of challenges, whether they be through their fighting style or the ground in which you must do battle (i.e. Ursula you fight while swimming - as opposed to the conventional ground fighting). The storyline is an entertaining one and it has appeal even for the oldest gamer. I must admit that I was worried considering the fact that this game, from outward appearances, looks as though it would be childish considering the cast of characters...but it's not! The characters meld very well together and it adds some childhood fun to the action of the game. I mean come on...who doesn't like Disney - I don't care how old you are! Well, all-in-all, I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an entertaining and interesting story, with fun gameplay. Enjoy and happy gaming!
