We all know that RTS on a console doesn't work, but this one just might be the lucky franchise that makes RTS work on a console. Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders take place after the previous KUF game on the PC. There is four different campaign in this game, but two of them you have to unlock. There is two sides to the campagin which is the Human alliance which is the human side, and the Dark Legion which has Dark elves, orcs, and other creatures. What is different about this RTS from other RTS is that there is a hack and slash sequences in the game. This sequence happens whenever you engage your enemy in combat, if you have a hero in your party. Only the main hero can ingage in hack and slash gameplay though. In the game you will have parties. Each party can be chosen a different jobs like archers, or calvary. And each party is lead by a hero which uprgrade the party's attack, special moves, and other things. Each party and hero can also have their own weapon and armors which you purchase with points you earn for each mission depending on how many enemies you kill. The custimization and upgrading should appeal to RPG lovers. The story in KUF is really dull. It is a classic good vs evil medevil type of story. The cutscene is okay, but the dialouge is kind of bad. People don't sound medival and tone. There isn't that much cutscenes though sense most of the dialouge is taken through reading. Anyways the gameplay is what is awsome. You can control many parties of soldiers in the battlefield. Controlling the many people on screen is easy too. The hack and slash is what brings up all the action. You can do veriety of short combos, and it is just like a Dynasty Warrior hack and slash. The graphics in the game is terrific. The models on the soldier is really detailed and the game can take hundreds of people in the screen at once, which adds on to the epic feel. The sound is okay music wise. The music is heavy metal, but that doesn't bother me. It kind of adds on to the action as you're hack and slashing away. Again, the dialouge is kind of bad. The value in this game is pretty long. You might be looking about a 20 to 30 hours game here. There is Xbox Live which sets you off on a deathmatch against 1 person online. There is no multiplayer, or co-op in the game. Anyways this game should appeal to people who like RPG, hack and slash, and anything medevil. Even though this game is hard, it is still worth checking out because of the intensity of the huge battles.
