Amazing what gets called an RPG these days.

Somehow somewhere RPGs got really dumbed down. Pretty sure it's the BioWare EA formula they've latched onto that this game seems to suck like a leech. I'm sure if you liked DA2 you'll like this... It's just these "action RPGs" are not RPGs to me. They're action games with stats, crafting, and skill trees. It's an RPG like Diablo is...sure it's got swords and sorcery but it's not really an RPG.

This will probably be thumbed down left and right by players who sadly have not really had the opportunity to play a Baldur's Gate, or a Planescape Torment or even the original Fallout 1 and 2.

There seems to be a kind of resurgence to those games in development with Wasteland 2 and Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 getting a facelift...it seems that real kind of RPG that set the standard may be making a comeback.

I just don't think those gamers who play on the Xbox360 or PS3 can get the real kind of game. They don't work on the platforms as well as they do a PC or iPad.

You can get what this is. An "action RPG" that really is not a "role playing game" by any real definition. It's even got that "conversation wheel" that so many are expecting as a sort of norm these days.

It's an action game with stats and a wee bit of inventory management. If you like DA2 (and gawd knows why you would...) go for it but trust an ol' schooler here, you can play better, you just don't know it yet.

It doesn't make me happy to give this a low score but I have a good memory.
