A unique and simple racer on the Gamecube that is not Mario Kart and an great multiplayer game.

User Rating: 8.5 | Kirby Air Ride GC
Kirby Air Ride was originally supposed to be a Nintendo 64 game, but was scrapped. I don't know why this wasn't received very well. I guess people thought the gameplay was too simple and not frustratingly complicated enough. Like I said, the gameplay is very simple. The vehicles automatically move, but you can brake with the A button and steer with the analog stick. The A button also allows you to suck in enemies, use their abilities, and charge up a small boost. Once you go off a ramp you can fly for a short time, though some vehicles can fly longer than others. The longer you fly, the more the charge meter will fill up, allowing for a quick boost upon landing. You can also grind rails for speed. The soundtrack is also pretty good as well. The music almost perfectly fits stage it's being played on. There are also plenty of unlockables including two secret characters; Meta Knight and King Dedede. There are three Modes you can play in. The standard racing mode, a slightly altered racing mode which has a battle theme to it, and the "City" Mode. In the city mode, you race around a large city powering up your air ride machine for a few minutes and then use it against your opponents in a minigame at the end. In conclusion, if you're a Kirby fan and/or want a unique racer, Kirby Air Ride is for you.
