While not the best Kirby game in the series, some reviewers maybe overlooking the few things it does differently...

Kirby Squeak Squad is basically a Kirby Amazing Mirror 2 as far as gameplay. While not having the 3 other Kirbys to help you, many of the copy abilities are the same and so is the graphical shell. However, this game does do a few amazing things on its own. First off, you can now find hidden scrolls around Dream Land that add extra effects to copy abilities. Secondly, the game takes a page out of Kirby 64's book and allows you to mix copy abilities (mainly just adding elemental properties to the Bomb and Sword copy abilities). Lastly, you have a new and very interesting copy ability in Ghost. The Ghost copy ability allows Kirby to...well, I'm not going to spoil the surprise but just know that you're going to have to put a tad bit of work into unlocking it (its worth it in my opinion). Story wise...it is a bit different this time around since you're battling aliens but as the saying goes "As things change, they stay the same" (complete the game and you'll see what I mean).

My Breakdown:

What's Good:

- Graphics are still good but nothing new
- Retains the charm that made the Kirby series popular
- New approach to the story...New enemy
- Ability scrolls are a cool new feature
- FINALLY, we see a feature from another game in the series show up besides just the copy abilities (mixing copy abilities: Kirby 64)

What's Not-So-Good:

- The game doesn't do a whole lot to move the series along
- While the game has new features, there's nothing particularly innovative about the gameplay as in other Kirby titles

What's Bad:

- Just as it looks like we were given a new and original story for this game, in the end Nintendo just had to do the predictable thing (Not going to spoil the game but beat it and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about)

In all, Squeak Squad just ends up being a typical Kirby game and is not a very memorable experience. I would only advise fans of the series to pick this one up. Nintendo needs to start approaching the rest of the series as it did with Kirby Superstar and REALLY give the fanbase something completly new to work with.
