Kirby's only Nes adventure isn't hard to reccomend.

User Rating: 9.5 | Hoshi no Kirby: Yume no Izumi no Monogatari NES
The good: Awesome game-play, great music, soothing graphics
The bad: Released too late in the Nes era, controls are too tight

In 1992, Nintendo made a pink blob named Popopo. Nintendo thought this name didn't quite fit the bill, so they changed everybody's favorite blob to Kirby. Rumors spread that he was named after the famous John Kirby, who helped save Nintendo from being sued by Universal for Donkey Kong vs. King Kong reasons.

Too late to be released on the classic Nes platform, in 1993, Kirby's Adventure is the "sequel" to Kirby's Dreamland. its remake was Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland, a game which remains one of my personal favorites. This game is also one of my personal favorites, because of its smooth game-play and catchy music, it's easily a Nes classic you don't want to miss.

Game-play: 10/10

King Dedede has stolen the star rod and has torn it to 6 pieces. Now, he is bathing in the fountain of dreams, causing dreaming to stop. Without dreams, Kirby's world will be a disaster. It's up to our hero to save the kingdom from the self-proclaimed king. Kirby can swallow many enemies, some even give Kirby powers, such as a Waddle Doo, which gives you a laser beam, or a swordsman, which gives you a cool sword. This makes it incredibly addictive, because not only isn't it a clone of the Mario series (or Sonic for that matter, since it was released 2 years before this game), but it lets you swallow and gain the powers of the enemy you swallowed.

Graphics: 9/10

At the time Kirby's Adventure was released, the graphics of all Nes games starting getting better, and better, and better. This isn't out of the box. The graphics are some of the best I've ever seen. Kirby floating in the air looks good, and swallowing enemies looks great.

Sound: 10/10

Great music!! Some of the catchy tunes include to first levels music, which is incredibly beat-filled.

Camera and Control: 8/10

The side scrolling genre has never been better for this camera, which gives you straight views all the time. The only serious problem is the control itself. Jumping from platform to platform gets extremely frustrating, and you might die into an endless pit in most cases.

Value: 10/10

Although its age in the Nes era matters to its success, Kirby's Adventure is one of the best Nes games I've ever played.

Average Score: 9.4/10

Kirby's only Nes adventure isn't hard to reccomend. Its beautiful environment, catchy music, and addictive game-play make it a bigger then solid experience. If you want a platformer that is released too late in the Nes era, but has great fun, look no further then Kirby's Adventure
