This remake of Kirby's first adventure in 1993 is a bright, colorful and enjoyable experience.
Graphics:
The graphics get an ENORMOUS upgrade from the 8-bit Kirby's Adventure. Everything is so much more bright and colorful than ever before, from enemies, to backgrounds, everything looks gorgeous. Even walking animations look really good, with fluent sprite movements, and great shading effects.
Graphics Score: 9/10
Controls:
The controls fit the Gameboy Advance perfectly, with the use of a D-Pad and the four face buttons. The controls work very well and don't screw anything up. There really isn't anything further to say about this section...
Controls Score: 10/10
Difficulty:
The game is fairly easy and accesable for Kirby newbies. Though long-time fans of the platforming genre will most likely breeze through this game without any trouble. At some points, the game can actually become too easy, but that's not a huge problem.
Difficulty Score: 7/10
Story:
The story begins as the Star Rod is stolen from the fountain of dreams by King Dedede, an evil penguin with a robe and a giant hammer. Kirby, being a star warrior sets out to retrieve the star rod and destroy the nightmares that litter Dreamland. Little does Kirby know that there is another power working to destroy Dreamland...
Story Score: 8/10
Entertainment:
I find myself playing through this game time after time for what feels like forever. It's incredibly addictive and is a lot of fun to play. Kirby's entries on the handhelds are simply second-to-none. The game has lots of replay value for finding switches to unlock secret areas, secret exits, and everytyhing is just hidden and waiting for you.
Entertainment Score: 9/10
Overall, the game is incredibly fun and totally worth the money. Although Kirby's Adventure on the NES was great, I feel like this version is even better. It may be easy in some spots, and the story isn't perfect, it would be worth anybody's time and money to go out and get this game.
Final Score: 9.1/10
