Great game with some flaws.

I recently found a copy of this game and had to have seeing as how I am a fan of the Shadow Heart series in general and this being the prequel and all. What I found was an interesting game that, for it's time, was very well done with great backgrounds and story. I really enjoyed playing this game even though it frustrated me at times with it's odd camera angles and repetitive combat system. The game is not overly long (20 hours or so) so it does not demand too much of your time. Here's how I broke it down;

Graphics: 8/10 - For it's time this game was beautifully done. The cut scenes and the backgrounds were amazing although I must say the combat/battle graphics became a bit disappointing after awhile.

Sound: 8/10 - The soundtrack is nicely done and captures the eerie feel of the settings and atmosphere in this game.

Battle System: 7/10 - While not very innovative the system does work. It is not very visually impressive as far as combat and spells go but the monsters look great at first and then the redundancy kicks in. Very repetitive.

Tilt: 9/10 - If you like the horror survival genre this game is a good bet. If you like the RPG genre then this game is pretty solid. As a fan of all of the above and a fan of Shadow Hearts in general I loved it and thus my tilt score is a little high. =P
