Ku: Shroud of the Morrigan is the best Action RPG for iPad mainly because it's built with the device always in mind!

Ku: Shroud of the Morrigan is a modern day retelling of Cuchulainn and The Tain - designed with a nice layer of Steampunk on top. The game basically plays out like a traditional Zelda title repurposed with the iPad hardware in mind. Imagine a phantom hourglass style Zelda title on the iPad and you're close to imagining what Ku is like.

The story is nothing we haven't heard before but it's the setting that makes it interesting. The futuristic Ireland, desolate and destroyed, echoes the current climate of the country and resonates with anyone who has been in Ireland during the current economic hardships. The bosses and enemies are all really well designed and aesthetically, I've never seen anything else like them.

The game really is in a league of its own on the iPad and I couldn't really fault it on much. Sure it could be a bit longer and there could have been some more weapons/items but as a first entry in what will hopefully be a long running, prosperous series its damn good.
