Feels at times too much like an interactive movie but a great movie.

User Rating: 8.5 | L.A. Noire PS3
This game reminds me of Metal Gear Solid 4 when I first played it. Both have a similar problem in that the game play can be very limited but both have great cinematic scenes. The problem is balancing the amount of game play with cinematics and L.A. Noire is a prime example of how too much of one can make the game feel unbalanced or too much like a interactive movie. Other than this problem the game has many great features to mention.

The facial animations are amazing. Most cases in the game are fun to solve though the replay value is little. I actually thought the few gunfights made the game more interesting and the focus on intuition made the game stand out among today's games. Last if not least the soundtrack is grade A 1940's. Great jazz scores to help give the game a true crime noire feeling.

Overall:

This is an unique game that at least should be rented especially for fans of crime dramas.
