Ambitious story-telling, unambitious and restricting game-play choices make this game amazing to watch, less so to play

I'll keep this short.

Basically the pros are this: Great story-telling/acting, amazing facial scanning which makes for some potentially great interactions with characters. City is well realized

Cons: very restrictive and confusing options when interrogating - you can only select "truth" "doubt" "lie" and other than lie, it is unclear what type of response you will give, i would often select truth or doubt and my character would say pretty outrageous things I wasn't expecting and get a poor response... so the conversations are awesome to watch but less fun to play out.

GTA type city, but nothing to do in it... many friends that I know who played GTA would get sidetracked with all the extraneous things you could do in the city, i.e. it was just fun to roam around the city. Here there is nothing to do really outside the murder mysteries, which while great, kindof take the fun out of having a great looking city nearly fully realized in the game. Disappointing.

Lastly, as a Murder Mystery game it should give you the ability to solve the crime by yourself and use analytical skills to solve problems.. i.e. it should give you lots of evidence that you have to sift through to find the important bits... instead the game basically spoonfeeds you everything as long as you monotonously search every room you're in. Not very challenging.

Overall I enjoyed the game but felt that as a game it fails, I had some enjoyment and the production values are excellent, but they need to think harder about how to make this game more interactive and enjoyable at the same time.

Gamespot gave this game way too high of a score... i guess cause they were so impressed with the motion capture (which is fantastic), but it doesn't make for a fun game. Just be aware, 60 bucks is a lot to spend on a game that kind of leaves you feeling .. meh. good luck
