Loved the game overall. Would have rated higher if it wasn't so 'dark' a game.

L.A. Noire took me right around 50 hours of game time to finish with 100% on all categories in the Rockstar Social Club checklist and 90% PS3 trophies. This was a milestone game for me in that I've never finished so much in a game that has given me so much 'credit' for the effort. I don't play games for achievements and never will but if a game can hand me those credits...why not take them. Does that mean the game was easy--probably. I call it just right and one thing that made it 'just right' was being able to skip really tough spots I was having in two cases without taking ANY penalty for it.

I'd sure have loved to see that feature in GTA4 because I quit that game when I couldn't get through a game-blocking motorcycle chase.

The only thing else important for me to say is my disappointment that the whole game turns out very 'black' indeed--through and through. If only I could have made choices at certain points for a 'good' story outcome I would have probably gone for a 10 rating. Instead I finished the game feeling sad and empty once again. The only saving grace is knowing that this is exactly how the human race has turned out so far--greedy and mean-spirited and murderous given the chance.
