Something is dead here, but it's not the zombies. It's this game.

Resident Evil was a great zombie game, from the start. Zombie games have risen from their childish waysliek on the early systems, to gory blood-inducing horror hits. This game, though, made me laugh. You take the role of a farmer named Jack, who was just eating breakfast one morning when suddenly, the power goes out. No big deal, it always happens in the country, but what caught my eye is that he picked up the phone to call the electric company, but the phone was dead. DUH! The power is out! Then, he notices a stranger standing in the backyard, watching his barn. That's when this game begins. When you first see the zombies, you are terrified, paniced, and shocked of how many times it takes to shoot them in the head with a rifle. The revolver is better than the rifle (which is sad) and zombies are so slow, why do you need a gun? Just grab a fire axe and slaughter them. About an hour later, you will note that corpses laying on their back will become zombies and get up and attack you, not corpses lying face down. Soon, zombies cease to be scary! What the! Is that possible? Yes it is, my friend. The game tries to be scary throughout gameplay, but you just can't seem to get scared after killing the same zombie models over and over again. Note: There are no mutants. Prepare to go into a 'tense' warfare with the walking dead. There is something dead here, but it's not the zombies. It's this game. The graphics are acceptable to the gameplay, but most guns don't do crap, which is why I suggested a melee weapon instead. Using melee weapons is actually better, since zombies are horribly slow. The hit detection is bad and so is the length of the game, which can be beaten in 3 hours. The walking worm-food are suppose to have caused the apocalypse, but how? If a farmer can kill hordes of them with only an axe, why can't the military kill them with their advanced weaponry? The voice-acting though is better than I expected, but the whole game is simply sluggish, slow, and frustrating. Zombies moan and grunt as they walk towards you, when they sound like a baby on crack! The movie was great, but this game makes me wonder if the king of fear, George Romero, is losing his touch.
