Not quite what CI fans were expecting.

I'm a big fan of the Criminal Intent TV series. Vince D'Onofrio is a god in my eyes.

Which is why I was more than disappointed when I finally received my imported copy of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The demo had me in high hopes; I had played another Law & Order game (Justice Is Served) and was pleased with how it turned out. Now the chance to actually control Robert Goren instead of an unnamed detective was available.

After a while of playing, you can tell this game has a lot of problems. It crashes frequently, the save system needs a lot of work and there are numerous other bugs - at times, you can't click on a certain thing, or Goren will start walking towards the right side of the screen and remain stuck there until you reload.

The plot of the game is also a problem; it seems to specifically target fans of the TV series. The eventual villain of the game, Nicole Wallace, will hold almost no significance to those who have never watched at least two series of the show.

Overall, this game could have been so much better. Some tweaks and changes to a few elements and Criminal Intent could have been an adventure game any fan of the genre should have.
