A worthy sequel to Valve's shoot 'em up zombie franchise. With even more glitter... and blood spray!
Today is not your day, i'll tell you that much.
Similar to the first installment, Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2) follows a group of seemingly-"normal" group of survivors who are stuck in the middle of a zombie apololyptic outbreak due to a rabies-like pathogen which was exposed to the general public. The survivors are all interesting and charming in their own way. You have the old gruff high school coach, a impatient production assistant, a greasy mechanic, and the classic gambler/conman mix which keeps the story interesting in itself, let alone the fact they are fighting for their lives in a swarm of the living dead.
L4D2 offers much of the same beloved (and crazed) undead slaying as the first, but also offers many nice new features like the masterfully planned levels which are vivid with detail, offer fantastic replayablity, are great for multiplayer, and maybe most importantly are oozing with personality.
Regardless of if you are a casual gamer looking for some quick fun, a hardcore undead-head looking to smash some zombie heads, or anything in between, this is an extremely entertaining game that you would be foolish not to get. Well deserved of a 9.0 score, I definitly would reccomend Left for Dead 2.
