Why is it still called LEGO "BATMAN" is beyond me...
The Good:
Epic Story: This game has a great story with the simplicity and humour of a LEGO Game and the action and awesomeness of a DC Story. It's also commendable of how it brings all main superheroes and supervillains together to play parts in story instead revolving around just Batman and Robin like in the predecessors.
Around 140 characters each with their own set of special powers; The main characters are also equipped with different types of suits that grants them even more abilities. Such as Batman's Space suit, Robin's Hazard suit and Cyborg's Giant suit.
Iconic Locations; the game takes player through many infamous locations of DC Universe such as the Batcave, Watch Tower, Gotham City, and Fortress of Solitude. And unlike previous open world LEGO games, this one features small but many locations to free roam including the Hall of Justice and all SEVEN Lantern Planets.
Creative mission design: As always, this LEGO game triumphs by being full of different kinds of puzzles that are needed to be solved to advance in story and obtain collectibles which are very enjoyable to do.
Fantastic soundtrack that suits to each location and moment; whether it is an epic fighting scene or a calm and peaceful environment.
Side activities and collectibles; Other than the main story, there are LOTS of fun activities to do during the missions and in free roam including helping other characters, races (both on land and air), acquiring collectibles and of cause rescuing Adam West from various incidents. All of these will grant the player with many cool unlockables such as new characters and vehicles.
LEGO versions of classic mini games.
The Bad:
Conan 'o Brian: Now I'm fan of this guy especially his "Clueless Gamer" Series, but he seems like an absolutely unnecessary addition to this game. Not just because it's a superhero game, but also the kids who are the target audience, would probably don't even know nor care about him. Not to mention it is extremely annoying how he is in every hub explaining every little detail over and over again.
Character Builder still lacks many options.
Vehicle control can be difficult.
Well above matter won't even matter because there are like 10 land vehicles and only one place to drive them.
Conclusion:
With the great action-packed story, iconic locations and loads of activities, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is a superb and highly enjoyable game that can be played for hours without tiresome.
