Good but not without errors.

User Rating: 7.5 | LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures PS2
I rented this game from Blockbuster yesterday and have tried to play it but the game isn't quite what I had hoped for. It is good... but not without many little nagging things that bring down the overall "funness" level and feel of the game.

First off the graphics are good for legos. You can tell who the characters are by looking at them, the surrounding environments are detailed, and the overall view of the looks of this game are good.

The sound is not lacking in any way. It is well done for the game and matches the mood of the moment very well. That clasic Indiana Jones theme song never gets old.

The effects of this game are pretty bad. The different lightings in some key moments (such as the opening of the Ark) are dissappointing and don't quite live up to what you would hope for.

The scenes inbetween action are not as good as they should have been. They follow the storyline fairly well. However, the gameplay parts don't follow the storyline of the movies well. Most of the stuff has it's own way of doing things that were done differently in the movie. For example, in the game (Last Crusade) to get under the "X" in the library (into the tomb) you have to swing from the chandelier to cause it to fall and bust a huge hole in the ground. Would it have been that hard to make it to where you have to get a bar or pole or something and bust the hold yourself? The game just doesn't follow the movie like it should.

The puzzles in the game aren't difficult but they are too elaborate for their own good. A lot of them are too big/long and take too long to complete and run the fun of the game down.

The levels are too long and don't provide enough stopping points. You will get tired of the levels after a while and with some of them being as long as they are it gets tiring and you just want to stop.

Overall the game is fun but just doesn't live up to the expectations that were made for this game. It does a lot of things better than the Lego Star Wars series and does a lot of things worse.

Thank you,
