Lego Star Wars may not revolutionize the platformer, or be one of the best-sellers of 2005 but it is just plain fun. Although the graphics aren't the best out there (But does it really matter? They're Legos!) the authentic Star Wars music, blaster sounds, and engine sounds pick up the slack as far as the presentation goes. The gameplay is basic platforming action with a Star Wars and a Lego twist. At some points in the game you may use your Force Power to move a pile of Lego bricks, form a structure, then flip through the 35 (!) characters to choose the one that can reach the superkit piece on top. The 35 characters range from Yoda, to Mace Windu, to Chewbacca, and even C-3PO each of which has its own special abilities. For example- Jar-Jar Binks can jump higher than most characters, Young Boba Fett can squeeze into small places, and R2-D2 can hover in the air for a period of time. Every single character's abilities are necessary to complete all 17 levels' puzzles. Also in every level covering the first three movies (Episodes I, II, and III) a certain amount of Lego studs (think coins or rings) is set that need to be collected to achieve True Jedi Status. Once you do this on each level, a new level from Episode IV will be unlocked as well four new characters from the trilogy (Episodes IV, V, and VI)! So as you can see this game has great presentation, tons of replay value, and addicting and never-dulling gameplay. If you're a Lego fan, Star Wars fan, platformer fan, or just a kid, then this game is for you.
