A very fun game if you're a Star Wars fan!

Is it for kids? Sure. But is it fun even for adults? Absolutely. First of all, Lego Star Wars is just a well thought out and well put together game. Oh sure, it has it's quirks, and it is silly in many ways, but it really is a lot of fun. The graphics and sounds are both well done. The graphics are a elementary in a lot of ways, but after all, we are playing with Legos here, not real people. For what it is, it looks really nice. Nice detail and very nice reproductions of scenes from Episodes I-III. The sound, too is very nice. There is a noticeable lack of dialog. Rather, there are grunts as well as "ohs and ahs", but no actual words are ever spoken. It doesn't bother me though, it really doesn't need it since it's not trying to be real. The gameplay, though, is what makes the game so much fun. First of all, there is the story mode which is both challenging and rewarding. There is a lot to figure out and some real brain teasers to figure out where to go next. It's challenging, but easy enough for most kids. The controls, too are pretty simple. No crazy combo moves or ridiculous button combinations. Just simple jumps and attacks, basically. One you get done story mode, then the real fun begins: free play. With free play, you can take a handful of characters from the films back into the story environment and try to find all the hidden secrets and treasures. You get to play as characters like Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Darth Maul, Padme, Anikan and more. It really is a blast to try different characters and see how they are different from the rest. Take note: this is a light-hearted game for people who want a fun challenge and distraction from some of the heavier, more sophisticated games out there. If you're a Star Wars fan, you'll love it. If you like something challenging yet fun, you'll also enjoy Lego Star Wars.
