Leisure Suit Larry 1-6
Over the years I've been lent the games and enjoyed them but as technology has moved on the games have unfortunately become dated and old looking given the old style graphics.
So I bought this collection thinking great, the games have been updated to enable the old style graphics to be used on modern machines (via dos box), or maybe even given a HD update.
Unfortunately I was wrong on both counts. Having installed the game the the menu was easy to use, the games listed 1-3 5&6 in a column to just click and play.
However the problems begin on clicking the game, without failure every single game just looked bad, nothing to however do with the age of the games but more to do with very bad coding, there where patches of colour which were out of place with the colour scheme of the game (for example you could have a yellow wall but a patch would be rendered wrong and be violet and blue instead as if the coding was messed up).
In addition due to the way the main menu works it opens the games up via Dos Box in full screen which is like taking a 1mm pixel and blowing it up out of proportion making it look ugly, and too large.
This could have been a good collection but unfortunately with a game this age you would either need to re-write the coding or at least give some consideration to the speed and difference in graphical capabilities of the modern pc when trying to recreate a classic game without doing very little to update the original coding.
