Lethal Judgment is one of the best indie-produced space-shooters around. Nonstop action, challenging levels, nice art
The gameplay is pretty standard fare for this genre - you shoot hordes of enemies that just keep coming all day long. There's a fair mix of enemies, each with different attacks, and with so many on the screen at any given time, it proves a significant challenge to clear each level. Plan on lots of re-trys. That, however, is par for the course in this type of game. What stands out is the number of different attackers, the variety of ways in which they'll try to take you out (raming into you, shooting you, bubbles appearing all over the screen and knocking you out, etc0. It's dizzying and satisfying. You'll also encounter power-ups which enhance you weapons, though you'll have to keep a wary eye out for them since you'll be so focused on just staying alive.
On top of the solid gameplay, Lethal Judgment offers up some pretty good visuals. Each level has a strong thematic presence, interesting locations, and bold color schemes. The background has multiple layers so you'll have a feeling of depth of space that's usually overlooked in sidescrollers, and the artwork is pretty good for this type of game.
Despite the vast options for space-shooters available, if you like this type of game, you should definitely take a look at Lethal Judgment. It's one of the strongest space-shooter titles available on xbox live.
