i recently bought a copy of "let's yoga" for the nintendo ds. the game was released back in 2008 in Europe.
I was a bit sceptical of this kind of game on the ds, because of the small screen and limited hardware.
However, after getting "wii-fit" for the Nintendo Wii i started taking lessons in Yoga.
I combined these weekly lessons with the wii-fit. After a while i found myself looking for alternatives. Wii-fit is a great program, but it does have some drawbacks.
You get to do these nice yoga-poses, but there's a limited number of them, 20 or so. Secondly, it requires you to turn on your tv, obviously. Not only did i find myself focusing on a screen, which by itself was giving me headaches. Also once i had turned on the tv and the wii i found myself spending way too much time behind it. not only doing wii-fit, but also playing videogames and internetting.
enter "Let's Yoga":
it has over 90 poses which are calmly explained by a nice female voice. you can do short sets of 5 minutes, do seperate poses, do random poses from 10 to 60 minutes. take lessons from a master and learn all about Yoga. You don' t need to look at the screen the whole time, because you can also just listen to the instructions. You can even unlock new clothes for the yoga teacher and change the background color and the game saves how much time you spend doing what exercises. "Let's Yoga" is a lot more like real yoga-lessons as opposed to wii-fit and it saves me a lot of time.
Again, wii-fit is still great and i still use it and keep track of my weight and bmi, but this is something i can use daily.
I can seriously recommend this to anyone, especially to those out there who think this is definitely not for them. I can't thank Konami enough for developing this game.
Namaste!
