Limbo is that special type of game made by a very small studio that just simply shines.
Limbo is based upon a short danish film that basically became the inspiration for an indie platformer. You play as an unnamed boy in search for his sister. That's basically the story. You wake in a black and white flim noir style world. Trees and blocks and rocks are all used in puzzles among many other switches and levers. You basically progress, sidescroller style through this bleak dark world avoiding traps and using your surroundings to your advantage. There are many puzzles along the way, and while few are overly frustrating there are some that are incredibly difficult to wrap your brain around. But once you complete a puzzle you feel satisfied.
Limbo has a really strong fault and that is that it is VERY short. It can be completed in 3-5 hours. This also does not mean that it will take you that amount of time to find all the hidden Easter Eggs and all of the achievements. I'm currently on my second play through of Limbo and I'm still enjoying it and the puzzles bring something fresh each time. But I still think PlayDead, the developers, could have added another hour of gameplay.
That being said, I really enjoyed Limbo, it reminded me a bit of Braid but still brought something fresh and is definitely worthy of your time and money.
