Game very special, god sound effect, intresting puzzle. but it was a bit short
The puzzles are where the game shines, and there's a nice variety. One puzzle might see you trying to escape rising water levels while trying to navigate a box through the maze so you can float on it, while others might see you trying to outwit children attempting to kill you with elaborate traps. There is no end to how well the puzzles are implemented, and none of them ever feel forced or overly complicated. While they are by no means overly easy, you won't often find yourself scratching your head over a puzzle for more than a few minutes, which ensures the game is nicely paced
The sound is also on a whole other level and compliments the stunning visuals almost better than any other game I have played. Subtle sounds tickled and tantalised my ear drums as I briskly strolled along admiring the scenery as a bone crunching crack erupted as a boulder hurtled towards me and came to a satisfying thud as dust and debris flittered from its suddenly docile form creating a very realistic reanimation of real world sounds. Limbo has one of the most diverse and sparse soundscapes I have ever heard. Its range is something unheard of in an indie game, it is quite clear that a lot of care and effort went into making this game sound amazing and especially make it match up to what you are seeing on screen. The spiders sound genuinely creepy and sickly, The forests are alive with the chattering of bugs as the wind flows through the branches and the electricity sounds authentic and frightening with a nice buzz and crackle to it.It's a very onomatopoeic video game.
Limbo is something special. It's something original, unique and superb. Its visuals and music, the fact that the game has no story, no explanation, no cutscenes, no narration, or something to hint what really happened already and how the game makes a unique emotional connection with the player make Limbo different. Even without words, Limbo makes you think what message Limbo is trying to deliver as you solve fantastic puzzles and avoid deadly traps. Limbo is a one-of-a-kind game that shouldn't be missed.
