A cute puzzle platformer for kids and the kid in you.

User Rating: 7.5 | LittleBigPlanet PSP
After Locorocco, LittleBigPlanet is the next dangerously cute game that'll put chuckles in your face as you play. Without comparing to the PS3 original, the PSP version is like a mini self-exploring journey where it tests your sense of logic and nimbleness.

With the gradual learning curve, you'll find each map to be full of impressive gadgets and ingenious puzzle setups. It's like a wonder-kid science geek's basement lab of personal incredible machine experiments. There's always a new puzzle in every stage in the form of inventive logic devices that works like magic whenever you manage to overcome it. So the keyword in this game is "explore" and be amused by how silly the contraptions look and yet work so wickedly cool.

One other feature that impressed me is the sound design - subtle and magical. The ingenuity is in making everything sounds so harmless and approachable even though you see intimidating machines and dangerous traps. Also kudos to the voice cast, the main VO is soothing and firm, with the charm of a kid-friendly professor. Music is a minimalism approach I find, though not having memorable tunes like in Locorocco, it serves to stay loyal in the background, contributing to the whimsical atmosphere.

A great discovery edutainment package for kids and adults alike.
