Is this the best handheld game ever?
Loco Roco is also by far the most original game on the system. Far too many PS2 franchises have been ported and while games like Burnout Legends are excellent, I craved something more. Loco Roco has filled that void.
The game is set entirely in 2D, but don't let that put you off. Each level and Loco Roco is designed brilliantly, and the bright and colourful visuals go hand in hand with the happy nature of the game.
The music is especially outstanding, with many of the tunes sticking in your head long after the PSP has been switched off.
Now, this is the part where you'd expect me to tell you 'Shame it's too short.'
Well, you'd be wrong. Loco Roco does have just 40 levels, but each is simply full of hidden collectables which can unlock some pretty cool secrets, like parts to make your own level with so you can swap created levels over Wifi.
Loco Roco is a game made to be savoured, and that's what you should do. Getting to the end of the game won't take long. Getting the most out of the game will take at least 40 hours.
So buy Loco Roco. And be glad that the PSP has found its killer app.
