The objective for the player was to move the character through the screens, collecting idols and avoiding ever-increasing numbers of enemies.
Each screen was a level, and after all the idols were collected the player advanced to the next level, which featured evermore challenging puzzles to solve.
The only weapon available to the hero was the ability to bore a hole through one floor level, which could be used to escape approaching enemies by jumping through to the next level down, or could be used to temporarily trap the enemies.
