'Lost kingdoms' was a bit of an oddity. It obviously recieved far more attention than it should have. Things have changed. The RPG drought on the gamecube has turned into more of a severe shortage. In that event, Lost kingdoms 2 has in fact recieved a lot less attention than it should have. With improved graphics, sound, and even a revamped battle system, Lost kingdoms 2 improves on the first in every way. Ah yes, the graphics. Lost kingdoms graphics, while rather stylish, were technically and visually ugly. Faces were non existent and a lot of objects had blurry texture. Lost kingdoms II, while not overly impressive, are a lot nicer to look at. Textures are rarely blury and faces sport reasonable amounts of detail. The camara zooms in a lot more aswell. Sound has been slightlly improved, with better music A lot has changed in the gameplay of LKII, for example, battles are no longer random, you see the actual monsters and their health bar on the map and can avoid them if you like. Don't though, nor you or your monsters level up. LK II has become more of a real RPG. You actually level up like in normal RPGs now, increasing your health and such. Also, real NPC characters have been added. There are towns to wander around and people to talk to. All it contributes to a story that hangs a lot better than LKs. All in all LKII is a great achievement. It improves on the original in every way and then some. Making a sequel to a near-classic and it being better is something companys have a hard time doing. From software have donw themselves proud. Buy it. NOW
