A well-made step out of his brother's shadow, but not enough to remove him from it.

User Rating: 7.5 | Luigi Mansion GC
Luigi's Mansion is a good game. For him. Considering his previous roles of either the second player or his geography game, Mario is Missing, this is the best of the Luigi Series. The difficulty curve is low to none. The Nintendo company had to have been presented with a difficult task. They could not infringe on the Mario franchise or it would seem like a hack job. They also needed to remain within reason. Hence the birth of Luigi's Mansion. I hate to give this game such a low rating, however, he will always remain second to his brother Mario. Not to mention that there is little to no difficulty in the boss battles and the annoying ghosts that pop up in the hallways. There is a lot of creativity, and it does redeem it from the last tragedy of Mario is Missing. Nintendo needs to create another Luigi's Mansion type game, up the difficulty and puzzle strength, keep the ghosts and vacuum, and give it a new unique twist that will work well on the Wii. Then they need to change SSBB to give him the vacuum and take out that stupid green torpedo attack. (Final Smash would be turning opponents into a portrait and breaking the canvas with them inside.) Anyway, great game if you are a kid, groundbreaking for Luigi, not the best Mario Bros game, and hopefully not the last.
