More of the same, but what else would you want?
Lumines is a puzzle game in which the entire point is to create squares, rectangles, or any other shape made up of squares. Sets of four blocks drop in a square composed of two different colored blocks. By creating a square or shape made of these squares you delete the blocks making them and get points. The squares are only deleted when a side-scrolling line that travels across the screen passes over them. The idea is to create as many squares as possible before you fill the screen up to the top and end the game. This gets progressively harder as the blocks begin to fall faster and the deleting line moves slower. This game might get boring after a while if it weren't for the skins you can play on. Each skin has a unique song to it, some of which are actually licensed songs by famous artists such as the Black-eyed Peas. Different skins have different colored blocks and use different sound effects for block deletion. To unlock these skins, the gamer has to play single-player games. Each type of game will eventually unlock skins, but the endurance style rounds are the quickest way to get skins.
Overall, this is an excellent puzzle game. The concept isn't hard to master, but more play time gives you an edge as you begin to learn different patterns and tricks for bigger block deletions. This game is highly addictive and well worth the money for the hours of gameplay.
