There is no other more magical game...
To me 'magical' means the perfect combination of music, voice, and animation. For instance, the new versions of the old cartoons we used to love (Masters of the Universe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) were terrible. You want to know why? Cause they didn't use the same music or voice acting, and for the most part, no matter how terrible the animation was, it was key in making those cartoons 'magical'. When you take away any of these aspects, the magic dies.
This game, gets this aspect perfect. Never before was a game to me this magical, where the perfect combination leaves more of a feeling in me than an experience. This 'magical' aspect pushes a huge tilt on the many defects of the game (even for its time). For instance dungeon crawling is very difficult (but in a good way), very reminiscent of the rpg games that shined during the SNES era. However, the 'being able to see the enemy' system becomes more of a pain to the point where it should've just been random battles. The game is pretty short in comparison to today's standards, even with the monotonous leveling up that needs to be done to finish. The Characters get developed pretty well, but a little unevenly, which leaves very many questions, plus the main plot is very cliche.
These are all just slight grievances, and being that the game was made for the saturn (once again, i'm not sure) these small problems were just because of the lack of growth the rpg genre had at the time. If you are looking for an old-school rpg with an excellent overall 'magical' appeal, this is your game.
